Role Overview
Fantastic opening for a talented and driven Assistant/experienced Estimator to join our clients highly successful pre-construction division, helping the company to manage their existing tenders and help to bring in new work.
This opportunity has been created due to a strong pipeline of work & expansion of the business. The role is key in securing projects through driving detailed, specific and thorough understanding of the tender information.
The role will require you to coordinate with various internal teams throughout the preconstruction stages and to provide support and advise during the construction and delivery stages.

Our client is an award-winning commercial fit out and refurbishment contractor specialising in CAT A and CAT B projects within traditional design and build forms of contract.
They operate mostly within the commercial sectors, with project values ranging from £75k to £3-4m. Our client is recognised for their strong team ethic and their ‘people over profit’ approach to their work having been established for over 20 years. All of the projects are in the South East, including Central London and the work is varied and diverse; no two projects are ever the same, creating a challenging and highly rewarding work environment.
The team is a mixture of young professionals and more experienced staff across their offices and the work ethic is to enjoy what they do whilst building long lasting relationships with clients. Working underneath a young and entrepreneurial Senior Estimator, the team is vibrant and offer constant support in the office and great team cohesion.
Key Estimator responsibilities

Preparation of tenders to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements, setting priorities.
Proactive involvement in establishing the Bid Strategy to win assigned tenders.
Bid manage assigned tenders to ensure a robust tender is produced to meet tender deliverables and timescale.
Prepares construction budget by studying design information; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each element of the projects.
Evaluating offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and project requirements.
Obtaining bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating prices.
Tender reviews, analysis & presentations.
Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating relevant information.
Resolving cost discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
Preparing tender reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Supporting commercial team & regular review of the supply chain. Essential Experience

A proven track record in estimating/surveying fit out & refurbishment projects.
Minimum 2+ years’ experience as Estimator/ Surveyor 
Degree Qualified (Ideal) 
Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Excellent commercial acumen & strong management skills.
A proactive and organised approach with the ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast and dynamic environment.
