We are working with an established regional contractor to recruit the next generation of talented commercial staff for their regional office near Southampton.
They have one of the best training and development programmes of anyone we work with and have acheived Gold accreditation in Investors in People are now going for Platinum. They have both apprenticeship and graduate programmes running for new and existing people and will transfer anyone with existing degree or apprenticeship programmes onto their system with a minimum of fuss and offer additional courses and funding.
The current roles they are looking to resource are for Assistant and Graduate Quantity Surveyors. These roles are to work with the commercial teams on new schemes recently awarded alongside a range of carefully selected target schemes and turnover for 2022 and 2023 has alraedy been secured.
They work in the Dorset, Hampshire and Surrey areas and have regional offices in Bristol and Oxford. Projects are mainly framework based or 2 stage negotiated ranging from education and local authority schemes, care homes, high end residential and development schemes, healthcare and refurbishment works. Typical project values range from £3 to £15 million but thay will look at schemes over £25 million if they are right for the business at that time but are not interested in chasing turnover.
The role will involve working with the teams at estimating stage to establish cost plans and budgets, subcontractor negotiation and pre start meetings, managing the day to day running of the project in terms of valuations, forecasting, budgets, remeasures, claims, CVR's, managing the variation account – all the while you will be helped and mentored by a commercial manager or senior qs to help you grow and develop your skills. They offer agile working and appreciate that peoples work/life balance is important.
