Our client is a regional civil engineering contractor, based in West Midlands, that has been running for 10+ years, developing a great reputation in the area, they have an excellent track record of developing commercial talent within their business, providing on-going training and support to their junior surveyors.
They undertake all aspects of Civil Engineering & Groundwork’s, mainly encompassing – Roads, Sewers, Drainage, Foundations up to DPC, hard/soft landscaping and associated civils for residential and commercial developers in the Midlands region.
Most of the team have been in the construction industry for over 20 years and you have an excellent opportunity to learn from the senior members here, working alongside them on a daily basis.. They have an opportunity for a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team as workload increases.
*Attending pre-tender and post tender meetings with the client.
* Shadowing the Senior QS within the business, learning the ropes and undertaking any work necessary as part of your professional development.
*Regular site visits – remeasuring sub-contractor work.
*Where necessary take off quantities from drawings for pricing purposes.
*Re-measures on site as required
*Prepare tender submissions.
*Sub-contractor payment applications
*Capturing variations on site
The Candidate; Assistant Quantity Surveyor
*We seek candidates who have excellent understanding of the construction industry, combined with good knowledge of the construction process and how a construction site is put together.
*Previous experience of delivering civil engineering schemes desirable but not essential
*You must be well organized and able to work well under pressure.
Training will be provided and you will be shadowing the senior QS's within the business..
*Candidates must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
*Full driving licence, or in the process of getting this.
