The Client

Our client provide complete nationwide coverage, across the full spectrum of Technical FM services. They are looking for a dynamic and proven bid writer who is looking to join their expanding and successful commercial team.

The chosen individual will work closely with the MD and Commercial Director to manage new projects and oversee all tender & bid opportunities. You will be responsible for ensuring that all tenders are properly evaluated, resourced, coordinated, prepared, and submitted within specified times and to a high quality.

Main Role Responsibilities for the Bid Writer Includes:

* Creating and overseeing bid proposal documentation to gain business contracts or offer work

* Taking ownership of end-to-end bid process, including assigning responsibility and actions of colleagues where required

* Completing tender searches, understanding Brand Guidelines and delivering consistency in documents

* Collating information for and completing RFIs (Return For Information), PQQs (Pre-Qualification Questionnaire), ITTs (Instructions To Tender), and RFQs (Request For Quotation), etc. on time and to the quality expected

* Being accountable for the implementation of all necessary bis procedures, governance, and processes

* Providing a review of tender responses and arranging post-bid reviews with customers

* Understanding the requirements of the tenders and whether this is appropriate for the business to pursue

* Researching businesses and industry trends to identify potential new clients, markets, and ways to serve existing clients better

Other Duties Include:

* Contacting potential new clients using phone and email to gauge interest and plan meetings

* Utilising CRM software to track and nurture potential new business

* Preparing client presentations and materials, including PowerPoint and sales displays

* Meeting new and existing clients in person

* Negotiating business terms with new and existing clients using phone, email, and in-person meetings

* Setting sales goals and delivering against targets agreed

* Working with Commercial Director to identify new opportunities and support team, business growth. and sales targets

* Work with in-house Social Media & Content Manager to capture the interest of potential clients

Person Specification

An ideal candidate will have a few years’ experience of bid writing with knowledge of the activities of a wider commercial team. You may have previously worked within a Junior Bid Writing role and be looking to increase your knowledge and exposure.

You will have proven experience with bids, tenders, and proposals and will be comfortable working effectively under pressure to deliver high quality submissions in line with tender deadlines. You will also have experience with B2B sales.

A solid understanding of the bidding procedure is essential, as are excellent communication skills with both spoken and written communications.
