Our client is a global professional engineering services company specialising in water, energy and urbanisation. They are seeking a BIM Manager to be based out of one of their many UK offices working on Australian water/wastewater projects.

The role will be responsible for maintaining the CAD environment for a group of Design Technicians and taking an active role in implementing BIM on projects, reviewing design processes and data production.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the delegation and co-ordination of work for a group of CAD Technicians
Responsible for overall team performance and coaching / development of CAD technicians
Training and development of their team in line with business requirements, mentoring to achieve professional accreditation as appropriate.
Technical specialist in the application of advanced concepts, principles and methods in both CAD, BIM and CDE applications.
Supporting technical user queries, conducting training to the wider team and communicating changes and developments to users through workshops and one-to-one sessions
Working with Project Managers to ensure drawings are being delivered on time and within budget
Overseeing the management of software licenses and ensuring current version of software is maintained to company standards (may delegate to others)
Working with Project Managers / Project Directors to establish and implement the correct standards and templates required for each project.
Work with Project Managers / Project Directors, and when necessary, Client and supply chain teams to establish and implement the correct work and information flows, required level of details at particular stages in the project.
Work with the Technicians to ensure the agreed procedures, flows of information etc. are being implemented.
Work with all Stakeholders to proactively resolve difficulties on each project as needed
Communicate across offices with the other UK BIM / CAD Co-ordinators to ensure the quality and timely output on cross office / region projects.
Contribute to identifying and implementing new/emerging technologies

Experience/Skills/Knowledge

Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
Team player, cooperative with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge.
Proactive at identifying improvements and quality of outputs
Ability to plan, prioritise and organise
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Ability to meet and agree deadlines.
Ability to coach and develop others

Qualifications

10+ years' experience in a similar role or relevant technical role
Previous experience in managing a team is desirable
Technical and Organisational Expertise
Excellent knowledge of company and client drafting standards.
Excellent CAD & BIM skills are essential in AutoCAD, Revit and Civil 3D, BIM 360 and CDEs.
Skills covering a wide variety of other BIM authoring technologies and cloud based applications is also desired.
