Clerk Of Works / Building Inspector – Social Housing Projects
Greater London (various sites/field based role)
£38,000 to £45,000 + Competitive Mileage Allowance or Vehicle & Fuel Card
We are currently seeking a Clerk Of Works to inspect the quality of construction and progress and performance of contractors for residential social housing projects on behalf of a developer client.
Key Responsibilities
You will attend site and undertake site inspections and surveys, inspecting quality of construction work from the appointed contractors and report on progress to the Head of Construction.
Liaise with main contractors on the site and check the work is accordance with building regulations and best practice, you need to be able to handle several of these schemes at one time, with travel to sites on daily basis.
Update the projects diary via a dedicated project management software and feedback photos and key info to head office construction team.
Act as a Client representative and ensure the Contractors are meeting project requirements in relation to construction quality, timescales and health and safety.
The role involves liaison with Architects, Structural Engineers and Building control.
Key Skills and Requirements
The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of different construction trades, materials and building regulations, preferably coming from a trades background.
The role involves travel to various site on a daily basis, therefore it is essential the candidate drives and is happy undertaking a role being car/field based most of the day. The Client will offer a competitive mileage allowance or company vehicle and fuel card.
