Contracts Manager opportunity, midlands based with a highly respected building contractor.
Our client is a medium size main contractor operating in the midlands building sector. Established over 50 years ago they have a long history of undertaking new build and refurbishment projects across a broad range of sectors; notably healthcare, education, commercial, retail and leisure. They have excellent relationships with a number of blue chip clients and a broad range of public sector bodies such as local authorities and central government departments. Their projects are typically valued at £3 Million to £10 Million but have also delivered much large projects on occasion. The business enjoys strong financials including a positive bank balance and strong order book for the future. Based in the heart of the midlands all of their workload is local to the east and west midlands regions.
Owing to a number of new contracts secured they are looking to strengthen the business further with an additional Contracts Manager for the midlands region. The position will report the construction director and be responsible for all production and operations functions across multiple projects. The Contracts Manager will typically oversee 3 to 4 projects and will manage the delivery of those projects with teams of Project Managers and Site Managers. In addition to working closely with the commercial and pre-construction teams the role will be to ensure projects are run according to strict adherence to Health & Safety, in accordance with the programme and working towards successful handover to clients.
Successful applicants will have a proven track record of undertaking the role of Contracts Manager for a main contractor who undertake projects of a similar size and nature. In addition successful applicants should be from a trade background or hold an HNC or degree level qualification in a construction discipline.
