Our client is an expanding company working within the Construction Industry in the UK and internationally. They are currently looking for a Document Controller and offer both training and mentoring with the opportunity to grow and develop a career and move onto carrying out design duties at a later stage.
Reporting into the Design Manager and working alongside a diverse team of Architectural Technicians, Structural Engineers, Drawing Assistants and BIM Professionals, this is the ideal environment to kickstart a professional career within an industry leading Company.
Main duties shall include:
* Collation of technical documentation for submission to clients
* Use the various document control systems to issue design information for review and approval.
* Help manage the information distribution internally to the relevant departments.
* Maintain accurate records of when relevant documents have been issued to the client for approval and review and update the revision and status of the return of the documents.
* Process a large number of documents daily, including a thorough QA check, printing and review/distribution and electronic forwarding to create an accurate audit trail.
* Establish and maintain a Request for Information system providing reports to the Project Team as necessary.
* Take responsibility for the production of handover manuals and/or operations and maintenance manuals to ensure that approved and finalised document are issued to the client at Practical Completion.
Candidate requirements:
* Ideally have some previous experience in Document Control or Technical Administration ideally within construction, architecture or engineering
* IT literate, being proficient in Microsoft Office and the ability to use various PDF packages
* Ideally have knowledge of OR wishes to gain experience in Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD or Revit)
* Excellent communicator (verbal and written) and have a confident and professional manner
* Ability to work in a team or autonomously
