Fawkes and Reece are now assisting in the search for an experienced Estimator to join a Tier 1 Main Contractor out of their Bristol office.

This is a contractor which works predominantly in the social housing, high rise residential and private housing and student accommodation sectors but also works within health care and education too.

You'll be tendering a mix of negotiated and competitive tenders which can be either single or 2 stage.

Projects typically value anywhere up to £100mil.

As Estimator, you'll be working closely with the rest of the Estimating team and reporting into the Pre-con Manager.

As Estimator, your duties will include but not be limited to:

Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Identify labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Compute costs by analysing labour, material, and time requirements.
Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
Prepare special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends.
Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data.
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.

The ideal Estimator will have:

A degree/equivalent qualification
At least 5 years in the Estimator role
Experience with single and 2 stage tenders
Experience working from first principle
