Role Purpose:

Deliver month end, culminating in presenting to the Business Unit's (BU) senior leadership team; ensure the BU results are accurate each month and meet Group deadlines, manage the year end external audit for the BU; coordination of budgeting/forecasting processes, including monthly preparation of long-term cash forecasts and weekly preparation of short-term cash forecasts. Supporting the BU Managing Director and Commercial Director with financial analysis to support key business decisions and tenders.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate as a finance manager to the Finance Director and Senior Leadership Team of the BU, making reliable financial decisions.

Management of the Finance Business Partner and Finance Analyst roles where applicable

Present to the BU Senior Leadership Team on a monthly basis in the month end financial meetings, highlighting key financial metrics along with risks and opportunities

Lead on the co-ordination of month end reporting by the BU Finance Team, working closely with FSS and Group Finance, highlighting key risks to the FD

Review both the BU and where applicable legal entity monthly actual and forecast results. Ensure all appropriate reconciliations have been undertaken and are correct.

Along with the Finance Director, work closely with Finance Shared Service to review legal entity Balance Sheet each month, highlight and challenge any areas of concern.

Working with Divisional Commercial teams to produce a monthly long term cash forecast including detailed explanation of movement versus prior month submission by job and key drivers.

Skills and experience:

Strong management and financial accounting knowledge

Excellent communication skills – experience of liaising with financial and non-financial staff members from Board to junior level

Excellent organisational, time management and workload management skills

Computer literacy – experience of using core Financial Systems (experience of MS Dynamics Nav is an advantage) and strong Excel skills

Relevant construction industry or project/contract management industry experience is an advantage

Qualifications

Qualified member of ACA, ACCA, CIMA
