As our new Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technician you will deliver GPR service across Barhale projects to support our safe digging procedure for service avoidance. The individual will be provided with equipment and familiarisation training in the use of GPR (including data processing).

The purpose is to provide GPR scanning across our civil construction sites and then further develop proven GPR applications within the business. To achieve sufficient strength and depth in the GPR team there are development opportunities tied in post successful onboarding.

Key Responsibilities:

Training in the application and use of GPR initially including the interpretation of GPR survey information into a project report.

Followed by the rollout of GPR on our construction sites to work with site teams across the UK.

Responsible for ensuring appropriate GPR methodologies are selected based on the project requirements and advising project teams on GPR deliverables.

Collating a portfolio of information around the successful application of GPR that will be used to further promote capability across project teams.

Provide GPR survey and site finding (buried services) report to project teams within a timely manner following the GPR survey.

Import survey models into CAD for the issue to project teams (training will be provided).

Develop the GPR capability and during the project, activities look for opportunities for further application of the GPR equipment.

Verification of buried service information on-site and marking up of identified services

Recording of as-fitted detail using GPR equipment where applicable

Development areas.

Training in the use of Trimble, Total Station equipment and 3D scanning equipment, deployment to site for site setting out, establishing control and/or control verification following training.

Assisting sites with survey equipment and suitable application of survey equipment.

Providing technical support for site engineers on the use of the above.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:

Essential

* Good understanding of the application of CAT and Genny

* Good understanding of ground types and makeup

* Good Knowledge of Temporary Works

* Knowledge of risk assessment

* Awareness of CDM Regs and other safety legislation

* Experience of working in a Civils operations environment

* Experience in delivering Civil Engineering Projects

* Strength of Character and Integrity to maintain high levels of Quality and Assurance

* Collaborative and Relationship orientated work ethic

* Ability to undertake accurate site survey

* Computer literate – proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook

* Excellent time management skills

* Safety awareness

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

* Full driving licence

Desirable

* CAD experience

* Commercial Awareness / Responsibilities

* Entry Into Service (EIS) Procedure

* Good understanding of 3D Total Station and Leica GPS

* Knowledge of Surveying

* Awareness of commercial aspects of design and delivery

* Awareness of project planning
