My client is seeking a motivated and ambitious individual as a Geo-environmental Engineer with a focus on contaminated land to join their Consultancy Service in Derby
They provide consultancy and design services to a range of external clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies and private developers.
The current workload includes major infrastructure projects, housing developments, landfills and commercial developments.

The ideal candidate will have up to 4 years’ experience in their current role. Having some understanding and practical application of site investigations techniques, basic geotechnical recommendations and land contamination.
Undertaking Preliminary Risk Assessments (Phase 1 Desk Studies) and intrusive site investigations for environmental and/or geotechnical purposes.
Soil and rock logging to current geotechnical standards
Managing fieldwork activities and subcontractors
Supporting and co-ordinating a variety of projects
Preparing health and safety documentation, booking subcontractors and scheduling soil and water samples for analytical and geotechnical testing
Input to the production of Geotechnical and/or Geo-environmental Factual and Interpretive Reports
BSc degree level qualified in Geology, Earth Sciences or Environmental Sciences or a related subject essential
MSc in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering or Contaminated Land related subjects preferable but not essential
Understanding of laboratory testing and interpreting results with working knowledge of geotechnical and environmental guidance, BS10175.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prepared to work as part of a team or as an individual
Candidates must be willing to spend a significant amount of their working day out on-site and at times may include staying away from home.
