A Head of Projects is required by our exhibition construction client on a permanent basis. This role is based in East London.
Our client designs and builds exhibit/art display areas for museums and other exhibitions organisations within the art and heritage sectors.
They are looking for a Head of Projects to join their organisation and lead the project management function. Leading a team of project managers, you will be responsible for the business development, growth and procurement, ensuring profitable projects are tendered for, won and delivered in the most cost-effective manner.
You will report into the company directors and form a key part of the Senior Leadership Team, helping to shape the future direction of the business.
Project finance: overall management and oversight of project financials.
Contract management: management of CDM – JCT contracts, JCT design & build
Team leadership: management responsibility of senior PM, PM, and freelance project resources including training, coaching, recruitment, appraisals etc.
Essential skills and experience:
Demonstrable project management experience within a specialist design /construction environment – ideally, art and heritage, exhibition, museum etc.
Demonstrable leadership experience including leading project resources with varying degrees of experience.
Senior stakeholder management skills.
Client facing experience.
Contract management experience.
Experience working with cross functional teams – design, fabrication, site, operations.
Strong communication skills – highly desirable to have experience dealing with clients/suppliers within an art and heritage setting.
A degree or equivalent relevant professional experience in a related field.
