Civil Engineering & Construction

I am currently looking for an experienced Sales/Business Development professional from the Construction/Civil Engineering sector.

My client designs and installs a range of solutions delivering a “best in class” service and creating bespoke solutions for complex projects.

The Major Projects Manager will identify, evaluate and create specific Total Solutions opportunities across a wide range of product groups. This will require targeting existing, targeted and new customers in the Civil Engineering/Construction industries to build lasting relationships and deliver revenue growth.

Key responsibilities:

* Develop strong lasting commercial relationships

* Explore and deliver sales strategies and tactics that will maximise revenue from existing and new products.

* Work with the wider sales teams and other functions within a specific region to win projects.

* Evaluate the industry sectors within which opportunities exist and align to the relevant customer.

* Communicate and ensure understanding, within the business, of the market drivers and opportunities for development in each industry sector to grow the business.

* Collaborate with the commercial team on contract discussions and negotiate specific scheme trading agreements with potential and existing customers to maximise revenue. ,

* Work with engineering teams, national and regional teams and customers to identify and develop the business through Total and Bespoke Solutions for Major Projects.

* Identify, manage and deliver (install or hire) schemes within the region through effective working at all levels.

* Produce a scope of works, works information and design brief to give engineers insight to a project to enable follow up leading to a quotation.

* Provide accurate forecasts for Operations to enable adequate resource and stock planning.

* Collect feedback from existing customers, identify new product opportunities and compile market research.

* Report and present monthly, rolling pipelines for total and bespoke opportunities by region

* Deliver on financial targets to achieve budgeted growth plan for both margin and revenue.

* Arrange technical support for product demonstrations and showcase company products and projects to new and existing customers.

* Delivery of Sales targets with Operations and Engineering teams.

Experience & Skills required:

* A minimum of 3-5 years Sales and Business Development experience in a multi- site environment

* Experience in the Civil Engineering or Construction sector

* Proven track record of achieving revenue growth through business development of key clients

* An understanding of engineering concepts

* Highly honed interpersonal skills.

* Experience of negotiating quotations and managing the hire & installation process with customers.

* Experience of working with technical drawings, specifications and non-mechanical/hydraulic equipment.
