Meridian Business Support are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to start on a permanent basis in Bury. Ideal candidates will hold a valid CSCS qualification which would be advantageous but not essential.

Job Role/Responsibilities:

Single point of contact for all incoming tender opportunities and outwardly seeking new contacts to ensure consistent flow of pricing opportunities.
Develop and produce accurate, competitive, costing for full mechanical projects.
Log, manage, track, pursue all tenders.
Determine a programme and timetable for completion of tender in line with Company procedures and tender deadline.
Review all documentation (drawings, specifications, prelims etc) and detail any requirement for exclusions, inclusions, clarifications specific to each individual tender.
Responsible for managing maintenance and facilities sector within business. From costing, through to report generation.
Produce procurement schedules, details comparison quotations from suppliers to determine most competitive  purchasing strategy.
Read and understand client requests / documentation for individual pricing requirements in context with main contract.
Attend pre contract meetings where required.
Assist with liaising with site and placing orders / managing orders (working with our buyer).
Challenge conventional methods of practice in the interest of the Company, demonstrating you are innovative, commercial and pro-active in delivering Company profit.
Any other duties as deemed by the Director to be within the scope of your skills. 
Personal Qualities

Educated to a high standard although experience and knowledge are also considered.
Valid CSCS card or ability to achieve card
Demonstrate experience of good time management and organisational skills.
Must have a sound understanding of mechanical services, drawings, specifications, programmes, labour requirements.
High-level of attention to detail.
Ability to use own initiative and problem solving.
Friendly and professional manner.
Good communication skills.
Must be self-starter with ability to work unsupervised.
Must be able to work as part of a team and have good communication skills with co workers.
Must have good working IT knowledge. Use of Outlook, excel, word, essential.
We are offering a salary of between £40 – £45k for the position along with 30 days annual and company pension scheme. (salary based on experience and negotiation)
