Mechanical Project Manager



Role – Mechanical Project Manager

Location – Yorkshire

Salary – £50,000 – £55,000 + car / allowance

A client of mine, based in Yorkshire, is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to join their busy work-force due to the significant and continuing expansion of their Mechanical department.

The range of their expertise consist of the design, installation and maintenance of mechanical projects consisting of the leisure & shopfitting sectors.

This is an office-based role but some travel will be required to visit whatever sites / projects you are in charge of.

A proven track record working for a mechanical sub-contractor is essential.

Overall Purpose:

* To organise and deliver engineering mechanical projects.

* Uphold and communicate the values and culture of the company.

* Position the client as the Contractor of choice.

Key Responsibilities:

* Ensure all company & department health & safety requirements are complied with.

* Produce risk and method statements for mechanical services contracts.

* Ensure each engineering contract operation is carried out profitably and on time.

* To attend client meetings, design meetings and site meetings

* Coordinate daily activities of directly employed operatives and agency operatives.

* Handover contracts on completion and manage aftercare issues.

* Assist in the weekly compilation of operative timesheets / payments.

* Assist in the compilation and maintenance of training / plant & van records.

About the Candidate:

* Be self-motivated and able to work as part of a specialist team.

* At least 10 years mechanical project management experience

* Be analytical and have good problem-solving skills.

* Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.

* Be proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel

* Be prepared to commute to London

* Have excellent references

* Be commercially astute and cost conscious.

* Be flexible.

* Have a strong focus on customer service and customer satisfaction.
