ob Purpose
To manage painting and decorating including sundry associated work typically up to £100K in project value. Some projects may be between £100K and £1M. A combination of general decorating and fine decorating in historic properties. Mainly in central London but some work in home counties.
Role summary:
Reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager for Painting & Decorating, you will be commercially aware, have experience within the industry, conduct and agree valuations. Confirm variations and account for correctly. likely from a trade background looking to further develop your career in management. You will have previous supervisory/management skills and a proven track record.
Key responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Pricing, measuring variations and or works. Presenting estimates and quotes for approval
2. Responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple contracts and various teams, sub-contractors and our own directly employed decorators
3. Leading by example, motivating, incentivising and developing individuals
4. Instil ownership and responsibility of managing works to a successful completion, on time to budget liaising with the client and team
5. Building professional working relationships with clients and attending progress meetings as required.
6. Prepare programmes of work and issue progress reports as required.
7. Prepare H&S documentation for projects and ensure that work is managed safely in accordance with plans
Essential Education/Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 or above in Painting & Decorating
Essential Accreditations/Training:
SMSTS, CSCS Card, COSHH, Asbestos & Environmental Awareness, Fire Safety
Essential Attributes:
Self-motivated, Enthusiastic, Leadership/Management
Aptitude & Skills:
Good communication, strong numeracy and literacy, Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook. Planning and prioritising, customer service and relationship management (internal & external), collaborative.
