A hugely successful Global Infrastructure Consultancy actively needs experienced Procurement Managers to support the UK Programme Director to deliver major critical highways infrastructure projects across the UK in the coming years, and we need to recruit a team initially to cover all projects in the South of the UK.
They are also very interested in talking to Junior/Assistant Buyers who have some exposure to procurement, preferably across the UK Infrastructure Sectors, have a related qualification and perhaps some introduction the CIPS. You will be supported and mentored, and encouraged to develop your knowledge, skills and professional qualifications to achieve MCIPS.
Although you will be working directly and indirectly for the Programme Director and Project Leaders, helping deliver major projects for and on behalf of Highways England, there is not the need to be office based in the UK Head Office in Central London.
You can be home based, with the flexibility to meet in the Head Office, Regional offices and on Client sites when necessary or beneficial for all.
The ideal candidates should have a good working knowledge of infrastructure projects and in particular highways schemes, including using NEC forms of contract. The successful candidates will be responsible for a procurement delivery team as well as supporting the management of client accounts and support winning of future works.
Manage and lead procurement delivery teams across a portfolio of projects including the mentoring and upskilling of Apprentices and Procurement Graduates.
Support the development of bid winning mini tender responses.
Liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders to enable projects to progress without delay, ensuring that all reasonable requests are met in a timely efficient manner.
Preparation and verification of procurement options from first principles for projects of moderate complexity, and use appropriate sourcing approaches to propose procurement delivery.
Delivery of a fully comprehensive procurement service, with robust and efficiently priced contracts, ensuring pace and assurance.
Working with clients and team members to support the preparation of tender and contract documents and procurement processes.
Support the creation of strategic change and actionable plans to align supply chains with clients’ business objectives and priorities.
Working on client projects through the project lifecycle, from sale/ deal closure to solution design and activity planning, successful delivery, contract management and knowledge capture.
Diagnosing and tackling complex procurement and supply chain-related business problems, across large-scale consulting engagements, designing and implementing solutions that can demonstrate benefits and value delivered.
Interface with the Programme Managers, Project Managers and Planners to deliver professional and competent advice and support, to ensure that projects are managed in accordance with the contract and meeting the required reporting deadlines.
Manage a programme of current workload in order that all commissions receive the relevant allocation of resource to deliver them efficiently.
Understand and follow procurement risk management and processes to support the project manager, client and wider project team in necessary change and commercial aspects of project delivery.
Responsibility for internal management of projects including quality, fee and health and safety matters.
Communicating potential solutions and outcomes to clients and stakeholders.
Experience of compiling bid winning mini tender responses.
Experience of successfully delivering Highway related projects using the NEC forms of contract.
Confidence in communicating with management, Clients and stakeholders.
Demonstrable experience in leading procurement teams and Client accounts.
Have the necessary analytical skills required to make informed, balanced business decisions and reporting findings back to Clients, colleagues and stakeholders.

Degree qualified with procurement experience in construction related discipline.
Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply.
