I am currently working with a well established civil engineering and groundworks contractor who specialsie in road and sewer (section 38 & section 104) adoption projects for new build sites within the central North West. They require a Project Manager to join their team to grow with the contractor and manage an ever-increasing pipeline. As the Project Manager, you will be part of the pre-construction phase, liasing with the main contractor. You will also create and produce tenders for new business.
You will also take the duties & responsibilities including:
Manage the project from handover from estimating department through to handover.
Full management responsibility for all financial matters including monthly P&L reporting on projects, plus all planning and programming matters.
Full HSE responsibility for projects within your control.
Compilation of necessary take offs and subsequent procurement of all subcontractors, plant and materials within budget targets.
Preparation of all necessary documentation to enable installation teams to complete the works.
Represent the company at meetings, promote the company image and ensure all staff and subcontractors are aware of their responsibilities with this regard.
Implement an excellent communication strategy to ensure that all team members are regularly briefed on project requirements. Produce regular reports which monitor project performance, risk and opportunity management to highlight these at an early stage.
Develop and maintain long term relationships with clients.
Ensure any potential risks to the business are properly addressed and controlled.
Assistance if required with sales / estimating team.
Undertake line management responsibility for all direct report staff and ensure each is effectively managed.
Maintain all records, including diaries, drawings, notices, and computer data.
Requirements & Experience.
Strong management skills
You will, as the successful candidate, have:
Minimum 5 years, experience working in the contracting sector of the Civils industry, most notably within road and sewer adoptions.
Qualifications can be either academically or field based but ideally to HNC level.
SMSTS or SSSTS or other health and safety qualifications would be desirable.
Understanding and experience of working with various I.T. packages.
Excellent numeracy, verbal and written skills are essential
