We’re looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to produce and maintain robust cost plans and estimates to support the team in securing land opportunities and evaluating land already controlled. As a key senior member of the pre-construction team you will be tasked to manage and deliver the estimating function in line with agreed standards, ensuring quality and efficient deliver.

You will act as the subject matter expert across the New Homes team, ensuring credible and commercial cost plans and estimates are delivered for multiple developments, managing cost, risk, and opportunities, understanding our longer-term growth plans and align the estimating function to support delivery and results. You’ll also manage workload, assessing the priority schemes based on viability, revenue, alignment to our growth plans and our in-house construction aspirations.

In your role as Senior Estimator, you will develop and maintain effective relationships with subcontractors and specialist suppliers to ensure up to date market information to support the accuracy of estimates being produced. And will be accountable for financially evaluating risks and constraints attached to developing on a parcel of land, such as access, levels, drainage, and services.

You will need estimating experience in a housebuilder or main contractor environment, have a suitable qualification in quantity surveying, civil engineering or construction management or demonstrable practical experience.

As a managing quantity surveyor with us, you will:

Be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or demonstrable practical experience.
Have relevant estimating experience working at a similar level.
Be experienced in taking off groundworks, earthworks, roadworks, paving and drainage quantities.
Have in depth knowledge of new build residential development and building techniques.
Be IT literate
Show an eye for detail and the ability to understand the overall view of New Homes
Have excellent communication and influencing skills, able to translate complex information into practical understanding to drive decision making.
Adopt a culture of continuous improvement, proactively looking for better ways of working, seeking feedback from stakeholders to recommend changes to the way we do things
Take accountability and learn from mistakes
Strive to deliver excellent customer service and will be a great ambassador for Bromford.
Be able to drive and have a full UK driving licenceThis position will involve travel between multiple sites so you must have a full driving licence. As this is a roaming role there will be a mix of office and home working, but we have offices in Lichfield, Wolverhampton, Tewkesbury, and Chipping Sodbury.
