We are a large Infrastructure – Rail – Civils business based in Birmingham City Centre. Due to continued expansion we are currently looking for a key member of the commercial
team
The finance and commercial team provide the commercial and finance functions to support contract/legal matters and budget control and reporting.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide a leading role to support the businesses projects and the programme with commercial aspects.
MAIN DUTIES OF THE POST
Accountabilities (Deliverables):
Assisting AQS with site measure queries
Agreement of subcontractor interim measures and final accounts
Drafting and negotiation of supply chain contracts
Supply chain contract administration
Processing variation requests and orders with supply chain and Owner Participant
Resolution of contractual disputes
Production of monthly CVR Reports
Assisting Commercial Manager with forecasting project and programme costs
Responsibilities (Duties):
Mentoring of Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Cost control and administration
Subcontractor management
Contract administration
Change Control
Budget Management
Accuracy of forecasting
INTERDEPENDENCIES:
Interface with project and engineering teams
Interface with finance and procurement teams
Commercial Manager
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
Holding or working toward a construction commercial qualification (such as Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management) preferred
Knowledge/Experience
Working in a finance or commercial function within the engineering or construction sector
Knowledge of finance systems
Cost and budget administration
Financial and commercial reporting
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
