UK's leading M&E Contractor who undertakes the full range of M&E building services engineering specialisms. With project values ranging from £4 Million up to £40 Million and beyond across a wide range of sectors, our client is a dynamic and delivery focused business employing technically strong designers, engineers, and technicians. After turning over upwards of £180m as a business prior to Covid-19, the current project pipeline shows rapid growth with expectations to be turning over £220m by 2025.
Fantastic opportunity for a senior, commercial M&E subcontractor biased, Quantity Surveyor. Reporting a Commercial Manager, the surveyor will work closely with the project management team. Based between head office (pre-construction) & on local London projects during build stages.
You will be responsible for the assisting in the provision of mechanical surveying services and provide expert advice on all commercial aspects of construction projects including management of costs and contractual matters.
Key Tasks and responsibilities:
Estimating and cost planning.
Contract administration and cost control.
Work with clients on variations to the contract.
Negotiation, preparation and placement of sub-contract orders.
Value completed work and produce payment certification.
Cost reporting and final account preparation.
Be able to understand and follow current contractual processes and implement procedures as appropriate
Provide advice on contractual claims
To have knowledge and understanding of the workplace health and safety regulations.
Should be degree qualified or possess equivalent industry experience in the performance of the role.
JCT & NEC 4 contracts experience – from M&E subbie background.
Commercial Infrastructure/ Shell & Core projects knowledge (Offices & Workspaces, Education, Healthcare, Leisure)
Ideally been senior surveyor on projects between £10m – £20m
Ambitions to move up and grow with the business.
Requisite knowledge about the construction industry
Excellent numeracy and data analysis skills
Effective communication skills
Strong team work ethic
Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines
Full time – Permanent Contract
Working 37.5 hours per week (Flexibility required on occasion)
