Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced Solar/Electrical Project Manager who can manage the development and construction of multiple solar PV projects across the UK for major private and public sector organisations.
Responsible for implementing the delivery of multiple solar PV systems and ensure that milestones and key deliverables are achieved throughout the lifecycle of a project.
You will be ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Coordinate and manage a project from contract award right through to handover
Develop project programmes, monitor progress and report to client and Watt Energy Saver Directors
Procure subcontract labour, materials and ancillary items
Set up contracts with the supply chain, negotiate terms
Preparation and monitoring of project budgets and control overspending
Liaise with DNO to manage G98/G99/G100 applications for connections
Ensure PV installations are completed by subcontractors within the programme schedule and budgets as per contract
Confident delivery of briefing and coordinating activities on contracts
Ensure compliance of quality and safety of works at all times
Troubleshooting issues relating to PV installations
Effective management of multiple sites and respective site managers
Continuously monitor and maintain excellent levels of H&S on site
Create & review RAMS, CPPs and other H&S documents
Be fully responsible for the daily operations of the project delivery team
Accurate and regular reporting of project performance
Attend and report on meetings throughout the project(s)
At project completion provide a detailed review of performance against budget, identifying areas for improvement
Provide 'red-penned' as installed drawings for our design team to CAD
Collate information for O&M Manuals
Site surveys to be undertaken as required
Flexible travel to and from sites across UK is required
Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and electrical works and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in delivering electrical projects.
Minimum 5 years construction project management
1 years Solar PV experience advantageous
18th Edition Electrical Regulations Qualification would be advantageous
NVQ or City & Guilds in electrical installation would be advantageous
Ability to read and understand electrical designs from specifications and surveys
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
Must understand site H&S requirements and demonstrate understanding of current legislation & regulations
ECS card or CSCS
Excellent organisation and communication skills are essential
